I've not much to say about this costume except it came into being mostly by accident, after I had ordered a cheongsam dress from ebay which turned out to be too small for me. So, hoping to turn a negative into a positive, I got myself a blue wig, styled it into a Shampoo-esque 'do, made a sash out of gold fabric, and sold the whole kit 'n' kaboodle as a Shampoo cosplay ensemble. Got loads o' money for it too. Way more than I had paid for the dress. Nice when life works out that way.

The wig was kind of difficult to make. I had to cut strands of hair from the wig and glue them around two halves of a styrofoam sphere. Then I sewed said spheres to the sides of the wig and sewed fancy trim around them to cover up the seams. (Okay, so it wasn't difficult in principle, but the execution turned out to be most frustrating.) At least the sash was easy to sew.

Please allow me to repeat the fact that I no longer have the wig. I sold it. It's gone. (Strange how, even though I quite clearly mention selling it in the above paragraphs, I still have people e-mailing me asking if I still have it. What is the deal with that?)
