Ruri: The blunt, blue-haired, straight-talking wunderkind from Nadesico. Long a favorite character of mine. I made this outfit to wear during our local Otaku Club's annual Halloween party. Most of it was easy to put together; the shirt and skirt I found at a thrift store. The vest was wholly original however, as were the Nergal and Nadesico patches which I painted myself. The most difficult part of the outfit proved to be the wig, which I made by sewing the hair from three separate cheapie costume wigs together. Somehow I managed to sew the wig in such a way that the hair appeared to be swept up into ponytails, but it wasn't easy and I wasn't wholly satisfied with the results. (Not as satisfied as I was by my getting to shout "Baka" at my fellow crewmates-er, I mean, anime club members all night long during our annual SCSU Otaku Club Halloween Party. "BAKA!")
