http://www.ops.dti.ne.jp/~darkk/ - It's all in Japanese, so I have no idea what this guy's name is, but he's been making armor for gazillions of years and has a method of armormaking which involves glueing vinyl over foam. His stuff is pretty amazing, to say the least.

Gadget Tool's Armor Page - A site in which a Japanese cosplayer explains the materials and principles behind the vinyl-over-foam armormaking method. Very educational.
