Capes always seem easier to make than they actually are - this one had a weird design (a sheathlike shape and a tall collar) so it was especially challenging.
The hat was made out of the same material as the cape and was stiffened with buckram. All of the badges and buttons had to be made and precisely painted by hand. (Difficult to do with a cheapo plastic enamel brush...)
The most challenging aspect of this costume by far was the black and white loop collar which I made out of plastic and foam, and which I designed to be pinned onto the costume as a separate item.
