I've noticed those Chinese-style front-closure dresses are always deceptively hard to construct, (more so if they have a ton of decoration on them.) Some of the silver flower pattern and gold embroidery was painted on with embroidery paint, but all of the colored flowers on front were embroidered by hand. (It took about three days.)
