First Worn at SCSU Japan Night Event, March 2003

I dug Hellsing and knew in my darkest heart of hearts that I had to cosplay as one of the characters. Seras was the one I came the closest to in personality so for my first Hellsing cosplay I chose her.

The police shirt and skirt I put together with patterns I generated using my new Patternmaster software (which I'm slowly now starting to get the hang of.) The complex buttoned collar was a bit of a nightmare, (and the patternmaking software wasn't much help with that.) I created the epaulets using craft foam covered with stretchy gold fabric and I was able to locate TWO rare-as-hell official Hellsing patches for the chest and arm cuff.

The stockings were simple tubes of black spandex serged closed and turned inside out. I had to reply on double-sided carpet tape to hold them onto my legs. (Ouch.)

The boots were a thrift shop find which I had to alter a little to make them look more "combat-y."

The gloves I bought in a costume shop and altered with bands of white fabric sewn at the wrist.

I didn't much like the wig, the back of which I ruined in my attempts to style it. (Never did like any of the multitude of wigs which I bought for this costume. Never liked the fact that I wasn't able to make a full-sized Halconnen to lug around with it either. *Sigh*)

No, my eyes aren't really red. I couldn't afford to buy a pair of red contacts for just this one costume. (I figured Photoshop would do just as well a job of making my eyes look red, and for a much cheaper price...)
