This character's dress is lovely (although more challenging than most projects for reasons I'll elaborate on...

It took me days to work out the waistline for the dress, (which was made up entirely of vertical seams). I also had to work out a way to attach a petticoat underneath (while keeping the hem of the dress nice and level.) The puffy sleeves were no picnic to make OR attach. (Most of the sewing on the sleeves had to be done by hand, as--once I had added the padding to the sleeves-- they no longer fit under my machine.)

At least the cross was easy to do. I simply cut a piece of friendly plastic to shape, painted it, strung it from a chain and, as Miss Fontaine herself would say (being French and all,) VOILA!
